Tocaya Organica was originally founded in Venice and specializes in healthy food, inspired by Mexican flavors. It’s like a healthy (yummier) Chipotle! Today, Tocaya Organica has locations throughout Los Angeles and California, and even a few in Arizona. Tocaya Organica is committed to using only natural and sustainable ingredients in their cooking.
The menu consists primarily of salads, tacos, burritos, and, my favorite, bowls! In addition to choosing the ingredients, you can customize the protein and cheese for every dish. They also have options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes. Because Tocaya Organica emphasizes using local ingredients. the menu is slightly different at every location.
My favorite dish is the Black Bean and Quinoa Bowl with Carne Asada and Queso Fresco. It’s a great option for anyone who isn’t 100% on board with the LA nuts and grain diet. The carne asada is so flavorful and well cooked and the bowl is very filling, so you don’t feel like you’ve deprived yourself. For another delicious, but slightly more “hardcore” healthy option, I really like the Keto Bowl! The peppers give it some nice kick and I’m always a fan of avocado.
I’ve been to the Hollywood location and the Venice location. For both, I would recommend trolling around for street parking. They both have a small lot, but they’ve always been full whenever I visit. Make sure to bring quarters!
Tocaya Organica is my favorite place to stop for a quick, healthy lunch when I’m running around Los Angeles!
