The Italian Ice Shoppe is in Woodland Hills but it feels like a little taste of Italy! All of the ice is made daily in-house with real fruit and juices. The shop is bright and colorful and is a part of a small strip mall so there is plenty of parking!

Italian ice is different from shaved ice because shaved ice is made with ice and syrup poured over it while Italian ice is made using the same process as ice cream, just with fruit juice and ice instead of cream. The employee who helped me was actually the owner and he was wonderful! He was very generous with samples and even gave me samples without me asking for them. I probably tried a dozen samples before deciding on my flavors. Every flavor I tried was delicious, but I ended up deciding on pink lemonade, mango, and blood orange.

I have a newfound love for Italian ice. It was so light and refreshing! I love fruit and all of the flavors tasted very true to their fruits, not syrupy or overly sweet. But not all of their flavors were fruit, they also had ones like horchata, vanilla chocolate chip, and Ghirardelli chocolate! The Italian Ice Shoppe constantly rotates their flavors so I’m excited to go back and try even more!
