Is there a restaurant more iconically Los Angeles than Porto’s? Maybe not. The original Porto’s opened in Echo Park in 1976 by Rosa Porto, a Cuban immigrant to Los Angeles. Since then, Porto’s has gained a cult-like following of dedicated Angelinos and tourists who fall in love with their baked goods.

Most recently, I went to the location in Glendale. Regardless of when or where you go, be ready to wait in a line. This time, I got the grilled steak sandwich, the Cubano sandwich, and a few pastries. Both sandwiches were great, but I preferred the grilled steak, so yummy and well seasoned!

For dessert, I got a Tres Leches, Dulce De Leche Napoleon, and a Mixed Berry Danish. All of them were so good, but I think I liked the Dulce de Leche Napoleon the best!

No matter what you get from Portos, you are in for a delicious treat! What’s your favorite thing to get at Porto’s?
