I first discovered HoneyMee during a trip to the Camarillo Premium Outlets. There is one located in the food court, and I was immediately hooked! When I discovered HoneyMee is a California chain with locations throughout LA, I knew I had to spread the gospel.
Most recently, I went to the location on Sawtelle. There is a small lot nearby, otherwise, be prepared to look for street parking.
HoneyMee specializes in “true milk ice cream” and uses fresh California milk from a family owned, kosher certified dairy farm and 100% pure honey from a local certified bee farm. HoneyMee emphasizes simple, high-quality ingredients over fuss.
If you aren’t sure where to start on their menu, I’d recommend the Sweetie, which incorporates both the fresh milk ice cream and pure honey. It is light, refreshing, and sweet. The perfect dessert!
I’m also a huge fan of the Sea Salt Caramel Milkshake. The light, sweet milk ice cream mixed with a rich caramel that’s cut by nice flaky chunks of sea salt makes for a great milkshake! All their desserts are sweet and refreshing without being heavy or cloying.
HoneyMee proves that simple, lovely ingredients are superior to all the pomp and circumstance that seems to come with desserts nowadays.
