Los Angeles has a lot of weird and wonderful places to eat. But perhaps the weirdest and most wonderful is Bombay Frankie Company, an Indian fusion restaurant that set up shop in a gas station in West LA.

Of course, I had to try it! You walk into the gas station market and see a counter where you can order and a couple of seats where you can eat your meal. I felt like it was a more authentic experience, though, to eat my lunch in my car, so I placed my order to-go.

I got the Chicken Tikka Burrito and a Vegetable Samosa. They were both so good! Chicken tikka masala is my favorite Indian dish, and I was really excited to have it in burrito form. The flavors were overwhelmingly Indian, the “tortilla” was even a piece of garlic naan bread! It was a really clever way to make a dish that usually requires a fork and knife into a portable dish. The samosa was also a really delicious, classic samosa!

Overall, the Bombay Frankie Company was a really fun, novelty experience with really delicious food! Only in LA can you gas up your car, and get a high-quality meal at the same time!
