Wanderlust Creamery is based in L.A., but inspired by the world. “Wanderlust” means “having a strong desire to travel”, and the unusual ice cream flavors created by Wanderlust Creamery take your taste buds around the world.
I went with ‘Kinder Bueno’ inspired by the popular European candy bar Kinder and ‘Honey Lavender’ inspired by provincial France. The staff was very generous with samples, so I also tried ‘Abuelita Malted Crunch’ from Mexico and ‘Indonesian Street Crepe.’ All the flavors were vibrant and very intentional. If you want a cone, you also have the option of having a regular sugar cone, or a purple ube cone. I went with the purple ube cone and it tasted very similarly to a regular cone, just a little bit sweeter.
Honestly, it wasn’t the best ice cream I’ve ever had, but I appreciate the dedication to the theme. I am now a full believer that ice cream flavors can remind you of places you’ve been or places you want to go. I chose ‘Kinder Bueno’ because it reminded me of my time traveling through Europe and seeing Kinder Bars for sale everywhere.
Wanderlust Creamery also just came out with a line of Game of Thrones inspired ice cream flavors, which I am very excited to try!
